Reconsideration Process Formalized by the Postal Regulatory Commission
On April 3, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) announced its process for reconsidering several procedural and legal matters related to the Postal Service Board of Governors' request for reconsideration of three aspects of the Commission's recent rate recommendations in Docket No. R2006-1 (PDF, 56 K).

The recommendations in question involve the Priority Mail Flat Rate Box, the non-machineable surcharge for First-Class Mail letters, and Standard Mail flats (including catalogs). The process established by the PRC provides mailers with the opportunity to share their concerns on each of the three aspects that the BOG requested for reconsideration.
