Efficiency improvements help national healthcare brand deliver on tight deadline and reduce production costs
For a leading healthcare brand with nearly 10,000 locations, a direct mailing request from a key client brought scale, speed, and capacity challenges. Recent programs had grown beyond the scope of the brand’s internal print shop, and the magnitude of the request and challenging mail date threatened to overrun their internal printing systems.
In order to fulfill the 1.5 MM-piece request aimed at communicating a vaccine research study to employees, the brand sought an end-to-end provider able to support content optimization and production execution within days.

RRD recommended a creative redesign from the client’s original four-page letter (with envelope) into a more efficient 6x9 postcard mailer. Not only did this recommendation lead to substantial cost savings — see below — but the smaller product size also allowed RRD to double output speed and meet the client’s challenging mail date without sacrificing the integrity of the mail piece.
RRD’s end-to-end involvement and timely execution led to $474K in cost savings, and the brand was able to deliver a vital message on behalf of their client.
