RRD executes every element of kit development from concept to distribution
A leading source of vehicle information and history needed a tangible way to reward thousands of highly-rated dealerships and service shops with signage and materials to display their ratings.
Knowing dealers are more likely to display professional quality, co-branded materials with a high level of appeal, the client wanted to create a complete, multi-use kit with standout graphic elements.
Previous recognition items were fairly low-key, consisting of decals and table tents. However, since 2020 was a year without the client’s reps visiting dealerships, the new bold and engaging kit would serve a more significant role as the company’s mouthpiece.
This client had a vision for what could serve this purpose and RRD helped bring it to life. With all the capabilities to realize the vision, RRD created the right blend of practical and clever pieces assembled in handy, co-branded kits for recognized dealers and service shops.
RRD’s GO Creative team was tasked with creating campaign concepts to introduce the new 2021 Oscar-like statue award. In addition to creative design and photography, RRD also provided several physical print execution ideas including banners, standees, and table tents. Co-branded digital elements were also produced for social media applications.
RRD’s packaging design team applied the artwork to branded packaging. It wowed dealers and service shops, protected the box contents during shipping, and provided a satisfying unboxing and enjoyable user experience. They also maximized the client’s brand awareness and strengthened its partnership with top-rated dealerships and service centers.
RRD leveraged the brand’s widely-known mascot and personalized five different elements:
- A prominent congratulatory letter
- Four door decals
- Tri-fold tabletop standees
- Large standees for entranceways and service lounges
- An interior panel of the mailing box itself, integrated into the kit as a detachable prop for a shareable team photo
The kit illustrated that the customer ratings are award-worthy with the mascot brandishing the statue, proclaiming “Our customers have spoken!”
Beyond the creative and structural packaging design, RRD activated its broad network of facilities to execute this project. Personalized print production, complex kitting, and kit assembly required the resources of RRD’s various teams around the country. The client relied on RRD’s agility, skill, and swift response at every step of the kit’s development.
The end result was a five-way match for thousands of kits and two different outputs. The signage assets are widely visible among the recognized businesses, both at the dealer facilities and on their social media applications.
