  1. To make a positive difference in the communities in which our employees work and live, acting in concert with our valuable customers whenever possible, as we enable donations of time, talent and money.
  2. To help our sales professionals successfully do business with local, state, and federal governments and to involve qualified diversity partners as we serve customers in both the private and public sector.
  3. To be a strong voice for RRD in the public arena, as an advocate for changes that will increase our competitiveness and help us better to serve our customers.

Alliance Markets Group

Alliance Markets Group is a revenue generating sales channel focused on driving minority business enterprise spend within the RRD Fortune 1000 and Government customer base. We execute this model by forging strategic alliances and joint ventures with Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs).

Government Affairs

RRD believes that it is our responsibility to represent the interests of our industry and our customers to U.S. federal, state and local governments. Our Government Affairs department acts as an advocate for our company, our customers and our industry in three ways:

  1. We have ongoing efforts to promote favorable policies and programs through effective liaisons with government officials.
  2. We support new business opportunities for the company that include governmental dimensions.
  3. We help the company in long-range planning through assessments of trends in government policies and programs.

Issues at Hand

RRD's efforts are focused on several issues, including:

  • postal reform
  • government printing reform
  • tax policy issues
  • health care and human resource issues

In addition, RRD works with trade associations and customers to support their public policy efforts. We frequently partner with several leading industry associations, including the PRINTING United Alliance, the ANA (Association of National Advertisers) and the PostCom.

RRD believes that good community relations is crucial to supporting our communities. Our vision is to strengthen the communities in which the employees of RRD live and work. RRD builds strong and lasting relationships with diverse partners in the workplace, marketplace and community. We strive to create a workplace in which behaviors, practices, and policies promote respect, inclusion, utilization, development and career progress of talent across the organization. In the community, we support efforts and activities that promote inclusion and marketplace opportunities for underserved members.

Marketing & Sales

Marketing and Sales builds relationships with current or potential customers through the support of charitable activities. The goal of our sales and marketing efforts is to achieve profitable growth, expand our operations globally in areas that capitalize on our core strengths and pursue/strengthen new business opportunities.

Contribution Guidelines

  1. Support types. Support of nonprofits is extended to civic, community, professional and marketplace partners in many different ways and includes:
    • Sponsorship of events
    • Volunteering
    • Memberships
    • Internship opportunities
  2. Qualifying organizations
    • A nonprofit organization with 501 (c) (3) status issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service.
    • Government entity such as a public school, a public library, or a city operated recreation program.

Supplier Diversity

RRD’s Supplier Diversity mission is to develop and nurture an inclusive supplier network to provide ample growth opportunities for small and diverse businesses across the supply chain.

Multi-Faceted Approach

Through our Supplier Diversity program, RRD is able to enhance our supply chain by proactively seeking, building relationships with, developing and buying from small and diverse businesses. Our objectives:

  • Use small and diverse suppliers directly as providers of goods and services
  • Encourage our prime suppliers to expand their business transactions with small and diverse suppliers
  • Assist small and diverse suppliers in forging alliances that expand their scope and scale
  • Increase opportunities for small and diverse vendors in the printing industry
  • Consult with sales in creating customer focused diverse supplier partnerships

About Our Program

RRD is committed to the inclusion of small and diverse businesses in our supplier base and to growing our total spending with these businesses. Our program has two main focuses: 1) working with and mentoring small and diverse businesses and 2) data and analytics for both RRD and requesting clients (Tier II Reporting).

As an active corporate member of WBENC and NMSDC, we are continuously seeking out additional small and diverse businesses to include in RFPs, while identifying new opportunities for business and mentorship for those already in our supply base.

To be considered a small/diverse supplier for RRD’s Supplier Diversity program, a supplier must comply with the following guidelines:

Supplier qualifications

Diverse* – 51%+ owned by one or more persons in the following categories:
  • Woman
  • Minority
  • LGBTQ+
  • Disabled
  • Veteran (including Service Disabled Veterans)

*Valid certification as a diverse business from an RRD acceptable agency (more information below)

  • Inclusive of 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, EDWOSB, WOSB, ACDBE, DBE
  • Meet the Small Business Association (SBA) industry based definitions
  • Registered or certified by an RRD acceptable agency OR in System for Award Management (SAM)


To be eligible for the RRD program, certification from an RRD approved agency must be provided. Examples of these agencies include the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Women's Business Enterprise National Council, the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, the National Veteran Owned Business Association, Disability: IN, and city or municipal certifying agencies.
