To achieve such objectives, RRD’s executed a solution that was composed of three key elements — technology, workforce, and best practices.
RRD implemented a robust project management workflow integrating its DAM with client-owned systems. RRD also established a single repository to manage archival needs as well as work in progress.
Workforce restructuring was also required to provide roles and skill sets aligned with business needs. RRD also created a “Transactional Desk” to streamline workflows and focus resources appropriately for short-turn production and longer-term brand strategy projects.
Best practices were also embraced through documented version control and approval routing, a reduction in unnecessary touchpoints, and new transparency on costs through detailed project estimates and metric reporting.
