About us

Courier Printing Company began as an addition to a small newspaper printer near Nashville, Tennessee in the late 1920s. In 1956, the last newspaper was sold and the business fully moved to large-scale commercial printing. About 10 years later, Courier made the jump to web offset printing and in the 1980s, moved facilities to the current location in Smyrna. In 1998, Courier joined Consolidated Graphics and saw opportunities continue to expand.

On January 31, 2014, Courier Printing was bought by RRD and the acquisition gave Courier access to a large network of companies and greater technology that allows us to better serve our customer base. RRD's impressive capabilities in the areas of content creation, technology, data analytics, full-service marketing, and printing have only strengthened our offerings for our customers. Since Courier is part of such a vast network of RRD companies, Courier Printing has the expanded capabilities to meet the demands of any creative print project.

    • Michael Travis

    Senior Account Manager

    Michael Travis is a native Nashvillian with over 25 years of experience in developing commercial print, mailing and fulfillment campaigns that are customized to achieve optimum results for his clients. Michael began his career in sales in the radio business shortly after graduating from Western Kentucky University. He went on to join McQuiddy, where he spent 17 years becoming an expert in commercial web, sheetfed, kitting and fulfillment. Michael joined Courier in 2015 and has become an integral member of our team. In his spare time, Michael enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team, spending time with his family, and golfing.

    Randy Smith

    Account Executive

    Randy Smith grew up in Memphis, TN where he attended the University of Memphis. He began his career working at Memphis Printing in the pressroom department, going on to hold positions in several front office departments, eventually transitioning into customer service and finally sales. Over the last 40 years, Randy has solidified his reputation among his clients of being a solutions provider. Randy believes his clients want and deserve the absolute best value. In his spare time, Randy enjoys spending time with his Grandkids and golfing.

    Kevan Dunn

    Account Executive

    Kevan Dunn is an enthusiastic advocate for his clients’ best interests by using his experience to present new ideas and solutions while ensuring a superior customer service experience. A 20-year Middle Tennessee resident, Kevan received his degree from MTSU with a degree in Marketing and has served in the sales and marketing industry since his graduation in 2003. Husband to Jennifer and proud Dad to Avery and Ethan, Kevan is an active member and volunteer at Rolling Hills Community Church, and he also currently serves as Board President for the nonprofit, Community Child Care Center in Franklin. When not with family or serving the community, Kevan can be found either on his kayak in the Harpeth River or hitting the links at an area golf course.

    Jeff Hardy

    Account Executive

    Jeff Hardy is a Tennessee native and a University of Tennessee graduate. He brings over 20 years of experience working in the print and graphics industry. He excels in creating solutions for his customers, no matter how simple or complex. His approach is rooted in striving to truly understand customer challenges, pain points and expectations, and in delivering ideas and value around those needs. When not working, you'll find Jeff spending time with his wife and kids, or on a local golf course trying to improve his game!

40” sheetfed and heatset web printing

World class headset web printing in both half-web and full-web formats deliver multiple finishing configurations. And with the support of 6C sheetfed with aqueous coating capabilities, it allows Courier to deliver product quickly and efficiently to meet customer demand.

Kitting and fulfillment

Courier Printing is a one-stop shop when it comes to your kitting and fulfillment needs. We do everything from standard kitting projects to online, real-time inventory control and tracking. By using our technology, you can instantly order any kits that you need fulfilled or see the progress of your current jobs in the shop.

Digital press

Courier’s digital press has a multitude of capabilities; it can produce up to 90 color pages per minute, print on up to 16pt cover stock, and on sheets as large as 13 x 27.5. Additionally, it has variable data capabilities for mailing, images, and text, which allows Courier to produce personalized pieces. Additionally, the press can stitch books inline, trim three sides, and crease the cover to enable quick turn times. Our digital press is capable of folding inline for jobs with no bleed. Fold types include tri-fold (letter-fold), half-fold, z-fold, double parallel, half z-fold, multi half-fold, multi tri-fold, and multi z-fold.
